This is an English summary of the current avalanche forecast. It contains information about the avalanche danger rating, a description of the current avalanche problems combined with recommendations for terrain travel and risk management.

More information about the current conditions can be found in the avalanche problem section below.
 Cornices
Avalanche problem

Cornices

A wave‐like formation of soft or hard wind drifted snow, often overhanging. Cornice collapse can trigger new snow avalanches, wind slabs, persistent slabs, or wet avalanches on steep slopes below
Can avalanches be triggered? In how many places?

Although the avalanche problem might not obvious you could trigger avalanches on some steep slopes. Heavier loads like groups of people, machines or cornice falls increase likelihood of triggering.

How large and destructive can avalanches become?

Avalanches can get large enough and have the force to bury and destroy trucks and trains, buildings and areas of forest. When people are caught by avalanches of this size, chances for survival are minimal.
